The newspaper La Provence has featured the Pixtabxl summer retrospective, which recently welcomed the village schoolchildren for a special visit.
The young students were thrilled to meet a real artist for the very first time and left full of inspiration for their own drawings: an apple, a mountain, and of course… corks!

presenting a painting inspired by the themes and colors of our beautiful Provence, featuring
some typically Cézanne elements:

“Clarté provençale”

“The stone bridge bathes in brilliant light. The ochre and green tones of nature, softened by
the sun, merge with the shimmering water of a peaceful river, creating a hazy atmosphere
where the reflections of bleached foliage float…”

My entry has just been sent for the 2024 Art & Risk Competition on major natural and technological risks.

The Art & Risk 2024 Competition is an initiative that raises awareness of the importance of prevention and management of natural and technological risks. This year’s theme is particularly relevant, as it focuses on natural hazards. My work focuses on the sometimes complex and fragile biotic relationship between humans and the forest environment, a subject that is dear to me.

The illustration of the fragility of the Mediterranean forest: Through my work, I wish to highlight the specific dangers that the Mediterranean forest faces, in particular forest fire, a major risk for this ecosystem. The presence of carbonaceous twigs in the work represents this fragility, this invisible and often difficult to perceive link between humans and nature. This work is a reflection on the way in which man interacts with his environment, sometimes putting it in danger without being fully aware of it.

The objective of my participation is to raise public awareness of environmental risks, while using art as a powerful means of illustration. The Mediterranean forest, with its species damaged by fires, constitutes a fascinating study area to address this issue.

In this period of deconfinement, the mind needs to free itself, after a long period indoors … “OUT!” represents the “fresh mind”, the fresh, airy mind, essential after this long period of confinement physically, but also in the head.

Hoping that this “liberation” is not too constrained by political, media, medical, economic upheavals, etc … It is advisable to resist, to reflect, and especially to maintain a spirit of analysis so that our brains do not remain definitively confined by these words of politico-mediatico-medico-economic experts and these expertises of all kinds, which excel in this period
